IND v SA: Virat Kohli smashes a record 52nd century in ODI cricket

Virat Kohli scored his 52nd ODI century in the game against South Africa at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi on Sunday.

This is Kohli’s second ton in the format in 2025, and his first since the Champions Trophy in February.
Kohli has thus bettered Sachin Tendulkar’s previously-held record of 49 tons by three centuries now.

He had surpassed the Master’s feat in front of him during the semi-final of the ODI World Cup 2023 against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Post the ton, Kohli stepped up the ante of the innings, securing multiple boundaries on a trot to shoot up the scoring rate that had taken a hit in the build-up to this milestone knock.
