Head to head records in ODI cricket

The IND vs SA ODI series will witness three matches.

After a gruelling test series, Indian Cricket Team and South Africa Cricket Team are set to face off in an ODI series. The campaign, which consists of three encounters, will witness the opening game on November 30 (Sunday) at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.

The second game will be hosted by Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on December 3. The third and final clash will take place on December 6 at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

India have suffered two big blows ahead of the campaign, as captain Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer have been ruled out due to injuries. While Gill sustained a neck injury in the first test against South Africa in Kolkata, Iyer is battling a spleen injury he suffered in the ODI series against Australia last month. Axar Patel and Mohammed Siraj, who were part of the Australia series, have been rested for South Africa ODIs.

In their absence, KL Rahul will captain the Men in Blue. Notably, India have made four changes to their ODI squad from the previous series against Australia. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Tilak Varma, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja have been added to the squad. It will be interesting to see if wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel will make his ODI debut against the Proteas.

Speaking about South Africa, they will be short of their key pacer Kagiso Rabada due to a rib bone injury. The right-arm pacer was part of the test squad but did not play any game as he sustained the injury after arriving in India. Rubin Hermann, who made his ODI debut earlier this month, has been retained in the side. Temba Bavuma & Co. will be on the front foot after bagging a clean sweep in the recent test series against India.
