The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Ministry of Home Affairs, has facilitated the return of Ritik Bajaj, who was wanted in a drug smuggling case, from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday (December 23, 2025).

On the request of the Delhi Police, the agency had issued an Interpol Red Notice against the accused on October 9, 2025. He faces charges of smuggling narcotic substances.

The CBI initially coordinated with the Interpol National Central Bureau (NCB) Bangkok, and obtained information about the travel movement of the accused towards the UAE. Thereafter, the agency contacted the NCB Abu Dhabi to locate him.

“A team of the Delhi Police visited the UAE to bring back the subject, and arrived in India with him on Tuesday (December 23),” the agency said.

More than 150 wanted criminals have been brought back in the past few years through the CBI’s coordination via Interpol channels.
