YG Entertainment confirmed on Monday that BLACKPINK will begin filming a new music video this week as part of preparations for their upcoming album. According to The Korean Times he agency said, “Both the members and staff are putting their utmost effort into delivering the best possible result.”

The upcoming project will be BLACKPINK’s first major album since “Born Pink” (2022), which solidified their global dominance in the K-pop scene.

The label revealed that the new album is in its final stage of completion, with production focused on ensuring “the highest musical quality.” Fans have been anticipating the comeback, which is expected to drop later this year.

YG expressed gratitude to supporters, saying, “We sincerely thank fans for waiting for BLACKPINK’s comeback. We look forward to sharing more good news soon through official promotional channels.”

BLACKPINK last released their second full-length album, BORN PINK, on 16 September 2022, featuring the pre-release single “Pink Venom” and the title track “Shut Down,” both of which achieved massive global success. While continuing their world tour, the group also released the single “JUMP” in July 2025. Although recent reports suggested a mid-December comeback, YG Entertainment clarified that no specific release date has been set.

BLACKPINK is currently on its “Deadline” world tour, which began in Goyang, South Korea, earlier this year. The group made history in August by becoming the first K-pop girl group to hold a standalone concert at London’s Wembley Stadium, one of the world’s most iconic music venues.

The upcoming release marks another milestone in BLACKPINK’s career as they continue to set records in global pop music.

With production nearly complete and music video filming underway, BLACKPINK’s comeback promises to be one of K-pop’s biggest moments of 2025, signalling the group’s continued reign as one of the most influential acts in the global music industry.
