LONDON — A new chapter in local live entertainment officially opened this week as the London–Laurel County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting for Station 41, a music and event space now located at 200 Dog Patch Center in London.
The business, run by Michelle and Thomas Eidschun, previously operated in Corbin inside the former Felts Music building under the name The Train Station. After relocating, the couple reintroduced the venue with a new name but the same mission, which is the intention of creating an inclusive space centered around music, dancing and community connection.
“The idea is to put on some music, because we really believe that music heals,” said Michelle Eidschun. “That’s what we wanna do — just give people that healing option. We are open to all genres of music.”
During their time in Corbin, the music venue hosted a wide range of musical acts including country, rock, heavy metal, Christian artists and more. That variety, Mrs. Eidschun noted, is something they plan to continue offering in London to ensure there is “something for everyone.”
Beyond live music, the owners also hope the venue can serve as a hub for community-building and support services. Mrs. Eidschun, who works with the nonprofit Resilient Knights, plans to continue art therapy sessions and additional programming aimed at assisting local veterans such as those facing homelessness, mental health struggles, or difficulty accessing resources.
Her husband, Thomas, emphasized that while Station 41 will bring new entertainment opportunities, it will also remain a family-friendly environment.
“Kids do need something to be able to do around here,” he said. “It’s just another option for them.”
The venue is expected to host regular line-dancing classes, special events, and live performances spanning many genres. Community members can stay informed about upcoming entertainment and activities by following the venue’s Facebook page, which currently remains listed under its former name, The Train Station.
With times varying from event-to-event, those with questions about hours and events can message the Facebook page directly.
