Record crowds expected for biggest-ever Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Preparations are in full swing for the 2025 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, as Yas Marina Circuit readies to host what is expected to be the largest and most spectacular edition of the event to date.

Following Max Verstappen’s victory and McLaren’s double disqualification in Las Vegas, the F1 championship heads to Abu Dhabi for a potential three-way title showdown. With just 24 points separating leader Lando Norris from Oscar Piastri and Verstappen, and 58 points still on offer in the final two rounds, the title could be decided under Yas Marina’s lights from December 4–7.

All ten teams and 20 drivers are set to arrive in the UAE alongside a record entertainment lineup featuring eight global acts. Last year’s event drew 192,000 spectators over four days, and organisers Ethara expect this year’s attendance to exceed that figure, with visitors from 105 countries.

Saif Al Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, said: “Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the most anticipated weekend on the region’s sporting calendar and the one we prepare for the whole year. The 2025 event promises to be remarkable, with more fans, more racing, more entertainment, and exciting new experiences on and off the track.”

With headline concerts from artists including Metallica, Katy Perry, Benson Boone, Post Malone, and Elyanna, alongside official after-parties featuring Calvin Harris, Idris Elba, and Keinemusik, organisers describe the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as “the region’s Super Bowl.”

As the final race before Formula 1’s new regulatory era begins in 2026, this year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix promises a historic finale — on the track and across Yas Island.
