The internet was shocked to hear about the passing of travel influencer Anunay Sood on November 6, 2025. The news was announced by his family, who asked for space and privacy in these difficult times. Now more than a month after his demise, the official coroner’s report has confirmed the reason behind the 32-year-old’s sudden passing.

Even though early reports were unclear about exactly what happened and where, the official police report has revealed that Anunay passed away inside his hotel. He had booked a room at the Wynn Las Vegas Luxury, where he was attending a car show. He had even shared pictures from the event before the unfortunate incident. The coroner’s reports have revealed that Sood passed away due to combined fentanyl and ethanol toxicity.
The police report said that the people around him thought he was in a state of deep sleep. When further efforts to wake him up failed, they called the first responders. The medical personnel arrived on the scene and performed CPR on Sood and also used 5 Narcan packets, which are used to reverse or reduce the effects of opioids. However, none of this worked, and the medical team was unable to revive him.

The report further stated that some witnesses suggested that Sood’s demise might be the result of an overdose. It also mentions that the group that accompanied the influencer wanted to obtain drugs and even met a dealer to get what they wanted. But it still hasn’t been proved whether the package obtained contained drugs or not.
With 1.4 million followers on his Instagram account, Sood was one of the top influencers in his genre. He featured in Forbes India’s Top 100 Digital Stars list in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Sood has also been featured in National Geographic India, Conde Nast Traveller India, and Lonely Planet India. Upon his unfortunate demise, his girlfriend, Shivani Parihar, wrote an emotional message on social media, expressing her grief and shock.
She wrote, “I still can’t believe that you are gone. My heart feels heavy, and everything around me just feels empty. You were my person, my safe place, my life, my everything. I don’t even know how to process this. It doesn’t feel real. Every little thing reminds me of you…your laugh, your voice, your messages, everything. I don’t know how to move forward without you.”
