Jess, 36, and Alex, 41, sent fans into a frenzy when they were papped together at Wimbledon in 2023. Despite the swirling rumours of a romance, they didn’t go public until later that year, with Alex appearing to ‘soft launch’ the relationship, wishing the Hold My Hand star a Happy Birthday on Instagram with a kissing emoji.
Football Focus star, Alex, recently revealed her girlfriend made a “ballsy” move when she first approached the former England star, telling her I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! campmate, Ruby Wax, that the singer had made a beeline for her at celeb hotspot, the Chiltern Firehouse, revealing: “It really was ballsy and we fell madly in love”.
The adoration appears to be mutual, with Jess telling Scott Mills Breakfast Show in August: “She is a special one, it’s the same for both of us. It’s so crazy when you meet that person and everything just feels great.” The singer also said the pair make a “good team”, adding: “I’m just so in awe of everything she’s achieved, it’s incredible.”
Alex told her campmates Down Under that the pair were intentionally private about their relationship in the early days saying: “We were very guarded and private at the start because we wanted to just get to know each other and let what it was blossom and us figure it out ourselves before it was out there for the world.”
However, now she says she would love to marry Jess – but is waiting for a proposal – telling Ruby: “I’m just waiting for her to ask, Rubes”. In response, Jess took to Instagram, teasing: “I better go get a ring then.”
Unfortunately, Jess was unable to meet Alex on the iconic I’m A Celebrity bridge on the weekend after she became the first campmate to be evicted. The singer is supporting her mum, Alexandra, in the UK while she recovers from a stroke. I’m A Celeb stars usually stay in Australia until the final contestant is voted off, but Alex has now flown home and support Jess, with the My Love star saying she “can’t wait” to have ‘her woman’ back. Leaving the jungle, Alex said: “Thank you to ITV for even getting me through this process & getting me back to Jessica to be by her side during what is a difficult time [crying emoji].”
