I’m A Celebrity 2025 hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly dropped some unusual news during Monday’s episode of the ITV jungle series, but fans were confused by the ‘abrupt’ ending
There was some news by I’m a Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec on Monday that had viewers confused.
The presenters, full names Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, discussed a change to proceedings early on in the latest visit to the jungle. Ant announced that they would not be entering camp that day, while they didn’t confirm why.
He told viewers: “We’re not going into camp today but we will be opening the vote for the trial later in the show.” The programme moved on, and later the hosts revisited the shake-up.
Later, Dec told fans: “We won’t be opening the vote until later. But don’t worry, we will still let you chose a celebrity to torture.” It then wasn’t until the very end of the show that they discussed it again but they still did not explain the change.
As they confirmed the vote for the next trial was now open, they revealed Ruby Wax was exempt on medical grounds. The show then ended with the hosts not going into camp, or explaining why.

While some fans questioned if it was due to the storm that hit camp or maybe the overnight trial we have yet to see, other viewers called the moment “odd”. One fan asked: “Ant & Dec not going into camp today?”
As the episode ended, a second fan said: “Is it just me or was that a bit of an abrupt ending?” A third fan agreed: “It did seem a bit rushed and weird they didn’t go into camp but maybe cause of the storm or the evening trial?”
A further confused fan said: “It was scheduled until 20 past, very odd!” Other fans thought they had the answer though, possibly explaining why they didn’t go into camp.
A fan said: “Maybe it’s to do with the issues they had with the weather earlier?” as another agreed: “I’d say the storm had something to do with it.” Another fan said: “Maybe for something interesting tomorrow.”
It comes as one I’m a Celebrity star was caught flouting the show’s rules in camp. Alex Scott smuggled in contraband, which violates the strict code enforced by I’m a Celeb bosses, while Shona McGarty was also rumbled.
Alex was spotted with salt, which is on the banned list of items, and was seen putting it onto the crocodile feet on Sunday night’s show. Ant and Dec later confirmed it was “contraband” and said viewers would have to wait to see what the punishment was.
It is not known if the other campmates were aware of Alex’s rule-breaking at the time, or if she was going rogue. On the spin-off show, Unpacked, guest Jill Scott said: “I am surprised by Alex doing it as I thought she would follow the rules actually.”
Seann Walsh added: “I was surprised by how indiscreet Alex was with putting the salt on.” It follows a rule break last year, involving salt and teabags.
Radio host Dean McCullough managed to get tea bags past the show bosses, which he dropped into the morning’s supply of hot water. When the water was served to the other contestants, boxer Barry McGuigan was alarmed by the colour of it.
Aware of the truth, Coronation Street star Alan Halsall said: “We got a bit of mud in the kettle but if you try it, it’s not too bad.” Looking unsure, Barry tentatively sipped the suspicious-looking water, before realising it tasted like tea.
He gave his co-stars a wink and declared: “Fantastic!” Their rule breaking caught up with them, however, as TV host Melvin Odoom later undertook a challenge to win cupcakes – but was only permitted half his winnings.
