The Doha-Kochi Air India Express flight was diverted to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport (TRV) on Friday, officials said. The diversion was necessitated by adverse weather conditions near Kochi.
According to the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport (TRV) PRO, the flight safely landed at Thiruvananthapuram and later departed for Kochi once conditions improved.

Meanwhile, the country’s largest airline IndiGo on Thursday cancelled over 550 domestic and international flights while services were delayed at various airports due to operational disruptions for the third consecutive day.
Of 550 flights, 172 flights were cancelled at the Delhi airport.
According to news agency PTI, the airline, which generally operates around 2,300 flights daily and presents its punctuality as a hallmark, recorded an on time performance of 19.7% on Wednesday, a steep fall from 35% reported on Tuesday.
At least 118 flights were canceled at Mumbai airport, 100 at Bangalore, 75 at Hyderabad, 35 at Kolkata, 26 at Chennai, and 11 at Goa, with cancellations reported at several other airports as well.
Amid cancellations and delays of several flights, IndiGo issued a statement stating: “The last two days have seen widespread disruption across IndiGo’s network and operations. We extend a heartfelt apology to all our customers and industry stakeholders who have been impacted by these events.”
“IndiGo teams are working diligently and making all efforts with the support of MOCA, DGCA, BCAS, AAI and airport operators to reduce the cascading impact of these delays and restore normalcy,” it stated.
