INDIA 19 vs UAE 19 Live Score, U19 Asia Cup 2025: India’s U-19 Asia Cup campaign begins with both cricketing excitement and diplomatic intrigue. Led by in-form Mumbai and CSK opener Ayush Mhatre, India start against UAE today, but the real attention is on Sunday’s fixture against Pakistan. Beyond the cricketing rivalry, a major question looms: will India’s juniors be allowed to shake hands with Pakistan’s players? In senior tournaments — including the Asia Cup, the Women’s ODI World Cup and the Rising Stars T20 — Indian teams have refused the customary handshake to show solidarity with the Indian Army and victims of the Pahalgam terror attack.

For the U-19s, however, the ICC wants politics kept firmly out. A BCCI official confirmed that “explicit instructions” have been given to team manager Anand Datar, and if India decide against handshakes, the match referee must be informed beforehand. The board acknowledges the tightrope between avoiding “bad optics” internationally and respecting public sentiment back home.

On the cricket front, India are runaway favourites. Mhatre and fellow batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi arrive on the back of dominant Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaigns. Mhatre struck consecutive centuries, while Suryavanshi became the youngest SMAT centurion. Together, they have nine senior-level centuries — more than all other Asia Cup teams combined. With Malaysia and UAE lacking 50-over exposure, India and Pakistan are almost certain semifinalists.

Meanwhile, defending champions Bangladesh enter the tournament with confidence. Their seam-bowling all-rounder Rizan Hossan, fresh off a century in England and a match-winning all-round show against Afghanistan, calls the event “the perfect World Cup rehearsal.” He highlights strong family support, a disciplined rise through age-group cricket, and coaching staff who sharpened his three-dimensional game. Drawing inspiration from Ben Stokes, Hossan believes Bangladesh’s cohesion and preparation can deliver another Asia Cup title.
